Wall of Fame
In 37 years the ABN AMRO CPC Run The Hague has grown
into an event with international allure. In the Wall of Fame there
are many (inter) national elite athletes such as Samuel Wanjiru,
Patrick Makau, Benson Masya, Marti ten Kate, Carla Beurskens en
Lornah Kiplagat. In the early years only male participants stood at
the start. The first race that included women was on 29 March
1980.
The Kenyan Samuel Wanjiru (photo) ran a world record in 2007 in
The Hague. He finished on the Lange Voorhout in a time of 58.33.
The finish is nowadays at the Malieveld. This historic achievement
confirmed the international reputation of the biggest sporting
event in The Hague. The course guarantees fast times and many
personal records.
